How to input coordinates in Total Station

Imputing  the coordinates in total station means to make the instrument ready for taking measurements. however the instrument Total station is an electronic device use to measure length, area & level on the earth surface. It is also used for topographic Surveys for different Projects.  In this article we will discuss how to input coordinates in Total Station.

Setting up the Total Station

For getting ready the for taking measurement, the following method will be done.

Centering.

This is the first thing we do while setting up the total station. Centering is the process where we will centralize the instrument on the top of the bench mark.

Leveling

This is the second phase where we level the instrument. Leveling can be done by two phase. on first one we will level the instrument by adjusting tripod legs and bubble up the instrument bubble tube.

Secondly we will level up the instrument by adjusting the leveling screws.

Input Coordinates in Total Station

After the temporary setting we will insert coordinates in total station.

For doing this we need to on the instrument.

There are three options on main screen, Enter the first one (MEAS).

Enter the coordinates option (CRD).

Here you can see three options.

Coordinates

1.Observation

2.Stn data (Station Data)

3.Back Sight data

First you need to go to station data by entering 1 or with the help of navigation on the screen and enter it.

You will see the new screen on your machine

Inst. Height :

Target. Height :

Fill up the data and Press OK

Go to Back Sight Data and Press Enter.

A new screen will open and you can see the following options in it.

  1. Angle
  2. Coordinates

Back sight by angle

If you are going to back sight by angle method then press angle and if by coordinates then press coordinates.

If you go to first option following screen will open.

Set Azimuth

HAR  0*-0′-0”

Insert the angle and press ok

the next screeen will be

Back Sight By Coordinates

If you go to second option press 2 or go to second option by navigation on screen and Press enter.

a new screen will open where you enter your back sight data.

Enter OK by Pressing F4 button.

Now your instrument is ready for work.
